Common questions

How does Tend decide what's on today's plan?

Each task has its own gentle rhythm — daily habits, or "every N days" measured from the last time you actually did it. Tend fills your chosen minutes with what's due, keeps variety across rooms, and leads with hygiene when time is short. Completing a task resets its clock.

I missed a few days. Am I behind?

No. There is nothing to be behind on. Overdue tasks rise gently in priority, but each day carries only a couple of them — the rest wait their turn. Come back after a break and Tend deliberately makes your first day lighter.

I completed a task by mistake. Can I undo it?

Yes. Finished tasks stay visible in the "Done today" list — tap the undo arrow and the task returns to your plan with its schedule exactly as it was.

How do I unlock decor and companions?

Purely through care. Every completed task counts toward milestones that bring new furniture, keepsakes, accessories, and eventually new residents to your sanctuary. Nothing is bought, and nothing is ever taken away.

Something big is looming — a laundry mountain, the garage. Help?

On the Today screen, choose "Something bigger looming? Break it into small steps." Name it, say roughly how big it feels, and Tend lays out a path: one small step per day, sized to fit your daily minutes. Step one joins today's plan immediately.

How do I edit rooms, tasks, or reminders?

Rooms: open a room and tap Edit to rename it, change its icon, pause it, or (for rooms you created) delete it. Tasks: tap any task in a room to adjust its schedule, time, or priority — or add your own. Reminders: the slider icon on Today opens Settings, where you can choose once-a-day or a-few-times-a-day reminders, or none at all.

Is my data backed up? Can I move it to a new phone?

Tend stores everything on your device, so it's included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or computer). Restoring a backup onto a new phone brings your home, history, and sanctuary along. Deleting the app deletes its data.

The widgets aren't updating.

Widgets refresh whenever you open Tend or complete a task. If one looks stale after a restore or an update, opening the app once will refresh it; removing and re-adding the widget also works.

Does Tend collect any of my data?

No. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no servers. Everything stays on your iPhone. The full story is in the privacy policy — it's short.

Reporting a bug

The most helpful reports include your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you expected to happen versus what happened. Screenshots welcome. File them on GitHub issues or by email — whichever is comfortable.
